Late to post-Variscan basement segmentation and differential exhumation along the SW Bohemian Massif, central Europe

چکیده

Abstract. The exposed Variscan basement in central Europe is well-known for its complex structural and lithological architecture resulting from multiple deformation phases. We studied the southwestern margin of Bohemian Massif, which characterized by major long-lived shear zones, such as Pfahl Danube extending over > 100 km initiated during tectonics. integrated Bouguer gravity anomaly lidar topographic data analyses combined our results with available observations low-temperature thermochronology, metamorphic grades, granite inventory to detect patterns block segmentation differential exhumation. Three NW–SE-striking blocks are bordered Runding, Pfahl, zones northeast southwest. Basement boundaries indicated abrupt changes measured grades. By applying high-pass filters combination lineament analysis, we identified a new NNW–SSE-striking tectonic structure (Cham Fault), further segments known blocks. that segmented Cham Fault differ abundance spatial distribution late granites variations apparent thermochronological age data. Based on analyses, exhumation tilt model proposed explain juxtaposition different crustal levels. Block along Runding most likely occurred prior, during, after orogenic emplacement at ca. 320 ± 10 Ma, some cross-cut while others utilized these structures magma ascent emplacement. In contrast, activity fault sharply truncates inventory. Our study provides evidence intense continuous activities post-orogenic times highlights importance levels creation terrains.

Late orogenic carboniferous extensions in the Variscan French Massif Central

The Variscan French Massif Central experienced two successive stages of extension from Middle Carboniferous to Early Permian. In the northern Massif Central, the first stage began in the late Visean, immediately after nappe stacking, and is well recorded by NamurianWestphalian synkinematic plutonism. The Middle Carboniferous leucogranites widespread in the NW Massif Central (Limousin and Sioule...

Uraninite, Coffinite and Brannerite from Shear-Zone Hosted Uranium Deposits of the Bohemian Massif (Central European Variscan Belt)

New mineralogical data are presented for shear-zone hosted uranium mineralisation from selected uranium deposits that occur in the Bohemian Massif. The uranium mineralisation is in high-grade metamorphic rocks of the Moldanubian Zone and/or in granitic rocks of the Moldanubian batholith and Bor pluton as complex uraninite–coffinite and uraninite–coffinite–brannerite assemblages. For analysed co...

Late orogenic exhumation of the Variscan high‐grade units

[1] The current structure of the South Armorican Domain in the French Variscan Belt, provides an excellent record of the late orogenic evolution, as documented by the complex interactions between extensional structures and partial melting. In the Golfe du Morbihan, the South Brittany Migmatite Belt (SBMB), tectonically overlain by non‐melted metamorphic units, was studied by combined structural...

A review of the pre-Permian geology of the Variscan French Massif Central

The Massif Central, like the southern part of the Massif Armoricain, belongs to the North Gondwana margin. The Massif Central consists of a stack of nappes resulting of six main tectonicmetamorphic events. The first one, D0, is coeval with an Early Late Silurian (ca 415 Ma) highpressure (or ultra high-pressure) metamorphism for which the associated structures are poorly documented. The Early De...
